We recommend professional washing every 6-8 weeks for regular wear, or sooner if you use heavy styling products, sweat during exercise, or notice buildup. Frequency varies by fiber type and wear patterns; we'll advise a personalized schedule during your appointment.
Yes for heat-friendly synthetics we can wash and use low-heat styling tools; many synthetics cannot tolerate high temperatures. We'll assess fiber type first and recommend appropriate styling methods to avoid melting or frizz.
We evaluate each wig on arrival. Mild wear and tangling are treatable, but severely damaged caps, extensive shedding, or fused fibers may not be serviceable. If we can't safely wash or style it, we'll explain options for repair or recommend replacement.
Appointment time ranges from 45 minutes for simple synthetic washes to 2 hours for human hair with intricate styling. Timing depends on fiber type, wig length, tangling level, and requested finish. We'll provide a realistic time estimate when you book.
We use professional, fiber-specific shampoos, conditioners, and detanglers: sulfate-free formulas for human hair, moisturizing blends for blended fibers, and gentle, residue-free cleansers for synthetics. Heat protectants and styling serums are selected based on fiber tolerance and desired finish.
Proper professional washing minimizes color fade and preserves density, but pre-existing color treatments can be delicate. We use gentle products and cold water for color safety and avoid over-manipulation. We'll note any risks before starting and recommend color-safe care.
